Georgia man arrested by TPD for assaulting two women. South Station.

 On January 28, 2022 at approximately 9:30AM Transit Police officers on patrol at the MBTA's South Station received a radio call to respond to the track 1 area of the commuter rail for an assault investigation. Officers immediately proceeded in that direction and upon arrival several witnesses were pointing to a male, later identified as Rasheed Underwood, 34, of Lithonia, Georgia stating "That's him". Officers ascertained that Underwood without provocation kicked two female victims, 53 and 63 years of age, in their stomachs while on board the train. Officers observed a shoe imprint on one of the victim's shirt. Both victim's have had no prior familiarity with Underwood. 

Officers approached Underwood, who was uncooperative and placed him into custody for various assault charges to include Assault & Battery w/a Dangerous Weapon-Shod Foot on a person Over 60. Underwood was transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process it was discovered Underwood was wanted on a warrant issued out of New Bedford District Court for Assault & Battery and Disturbing the Peace.
