Juveniles arrested for a violent assault at MBTA Andrew Station

 On November 21, 2021 at approximately 11:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Andrew Sq. station for a report  of an assault. Upon arrival officers located the victim, a 43 year old male, in the busway who appeared disoriented and dazed. A witness approached and informed the officers when they came upon the victim he was laying face down, unconscious, in the busway.  Officers ascertained the victim encountered a group of approximately 15 juveniles while passing through the busway and was set upon and violently slammed to the ground striking his head on the cement curbing knocking him unconscious. While on the ground two additional male juveniles kicked and punched the victim in the head. The group then fled the area. 

Multiple Transit Police officers responded for an area search and located a large group of juveniles inside the South Bay Mall parking lot. Based on a very detailed description officers were able to locate the juveniles responsible and place them into custody for Assault & Battery Dangerous Weapon and transport them to TPD HQ. Arrested were a 17 year old male from Mattapan, a 14 year old male from Hyde Park and a 16 year old male from Dorchester. 

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for emergency treatment.
