Tukan Manley
On June 11, 2018 at approximately 1PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's South Station Red Line north for a report of a man being assaulted. Upon arrival officers were directed to a male slouched over on the bench who appeared to be in pain. Officers noted the victim, a 66 year old male, had a swollen right eye and cuts about his face and was wincing in pain. The victim reported to the officers while riding on an inbound Red Line train an unknown female accused him of taking her picture. The victim attempted to explain he did not take any inappropriate pictures. At this time an unknown male forcefully grabbed the victim's phone and began walking away. The victim followed the male and demanded his phone back. The male began to physically beat, choke and kick the victim. The victim also stated he believed others may have assaulted him during this time as well.

Boston EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital for treatment. A witness to the incident approached an officer and turned over the victim's phone stating she retrieved the phone from the floor during the assault.

Subsequent to an investigation by TPD Detectives Tukan Manley, 31, of Boston was placed into custody on June 14, 2018 for Assault & Battery on an Elderly Person, Strangulation and Malicious Destruction of Property.
