On May 2, 2018 at approximately 2PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Ayer CR for a report of a person possibly struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Ayer Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, approximate age of 33, while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity 400 yards west of the station while carrying a bicycle was struck by a inbound train on Track 1. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.
TPD Detectives are on scene and investigating along with the Middlesex County DA's Office. Foul play is NOT suspected.
