Quincy man attempts to stab MBTA bus operator.

On September 5, 2017 at approximately 10:40PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Dudley station for a report of a male armed with a knife and threatening the bus operator. Upon arrival officers located a bus with its emergency green lights activated at Dudley and Warren Streets. The bus operator informed the officers a male, later identified as Dennison Drew, 25, of Quincy attempted to board his out of service bus just outside of Dudley Station. When the operator signaled to Drew he could Not board the bus Drew walked around to the driver's side and attempted to stab the operator through the window. The operator held the window shut as Drew continued stabbing his knife against the window. The operator pulled away and Drew held onto the side as the bus for a distance before letting go.


Officers conducted an area search and located Drew walking towards Malcolm X Blvd. Upon noticing the officers Drew reversed direction and in a hurried pace moved away from the officers. Eventually the officers caught up to Drew who was holding a knife with the blade extended. Officers ordered Drew to drop the weapon of which he complied.


Drew was placed into custody for Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
