Brighton man arrested for Indecent Assault on Orange Line train.

Eliazard Jean-Gilles
On April 15, 2017 at approximately 7:30PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Oak Grove station for a report of an assault. Upon arrival they were met by the victim,  a 52 year old female, who informed the officers of the following: while travelling north on an Orange Line train (between DTC and Oak Grove) the victim was indecently assaulted multiple times by a male. The victim then pointed out the offending male, later identified as Eliazard Jean-Gilles, 34 of Brighton who was quickly walking away towards the parking lot.

Officers immediately proceeded in Jean-Gilles' direction and issued verbal commands for him to stop. Jean-Gilles refused and continued walking away. Officers caught up to him confirmed he was the offending male via the victim's positive identification as well as independent witnesses and placed him into custody for Indecent Assault & Battery. Jean-Gilles was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness month. The Transit Police will aggressively pursue all reports of sexual assaults. We are committed to identifying, locating and prosecuting anyone who commits such offences.
