On September 3, 2014 at approximately 1PM Transit Police officers working in Area 4 were at the MBTA's Stony Brook station conducting Point of Entry Policing. While there they observed a male, later identified as
Rashid Al Nuamani , 32, of Boston fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying patron. Officers approached Al Nuamani for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for Al Nuamani's arrest. Al Nuamani was wanted in Dorchester District Court for Trespassing and Possession of a Class B Substance, West Roxbury District Court for Shoplifting and South Boston District Court for Shoplifting. As the officers were attempting to place Al Nuamani into custody he assaulted the officers and fled the station running out onto Lamartine Street. Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend Al Nuamani on Hubbard Street. Al Nuamani was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. This was Al Nuamani's 3rd Fare Evasion offence which earned him a citation for 600.00 dollars.
