On July 6, 2013 at approximately 11:10am Transit Police officers from Area 2 received a radio call to respond to Davis Sq. MBTA station for a report of a person struck by a Red Line train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Somerville Police, Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A white male, approximately in his late 30's, was trespassing on the inbound track at Davis Sq. and was struck by a Red Line train. The male suffered substantial injuries and was transported to Somerville Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Transit Police detectives and the Middlesex County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Service was shut down in both directions and shuttle bus service was set up between Alewife to Harvard Sq. Station. Service has been resumed in both directions.
