Lynn man starts argument with elderly woman then assaults an elderly man.

On March 31, 2022 at approximately 10:41AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Aquarium Station for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers were informed of the following: a male, later identified as Omar Singhateh, 29, of Lynn, MA. initiated an argument with an elderly female while on board the train apparently because he was not pleased with the way she "strangely" looked at him. Allegedly Singhateh became increasingly aggressive with the elderly woman, at this time two other male passengers, a 60 and 31 year old, tried to calm Singhateh down. Their deescalation was to no avail as Singhateh punched and kicked the 60 year old male and then proceeded to punch the 31 year old male who tried to stop the assault on the 60 year old male. Both victims pointed out Singhateh who was standing on the platform and officers placed him into custody for numerous assault charges. Singhateh was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
