Medford man returns to the scene of the crime.

On January 11, 2021 at approximately 9AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Alewife station to take a report of Breaking & Entering regarding a private business located within. Officers interviewed the reporting party and recorded items stolen and other pertinent information.

Approximately 4 hours later, on the same date, based on a review of surveillance cameras a very observant TPD Sergeant located an individual on Steele Place just outside of Alewife Station fitting the description of a person he observed on the surveillance footage. The TPD sergeant approached the individual. later identified as Stephen Picard, 51, of Medford. The sergeant noticed within Picard's shopping cart were several items that were reported stolen from the earlier referenced B&E. Picard was placed into custody and transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process it was discovered several arrest warrants were in existence for Picard issued from Somerville District Court for Vandalize Property  A&B on +60/Disabled, Threat to Commit Crime and  Disturbing the peace.
