Abington man wanted for Assaulting Police Officer nabbed by TPD

On June 20, 2019 at approximately 10AM members of the TPD's Crime Suppression Team were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. Station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Jeremy Derusha, 31, of Abington. Derusha fare evaded by "Piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Derusha for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued out of Quincy District Court for Felony Larceny, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Attempt to Commit a Crime, Disorderly, Trespass, Drug Possession and Brighton District Court for Felony Larceny.


Derusha was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
