On November 13, 2018 a commuter's bicycle was stolen from the MBTA's Quincy Center station. Shortly after the incident the victim's bicycle was posted for sale on Craigslist. Transit Police detectives contacted the poster and made arrangements to "Buy" the bicycle.
On December 18, 2018 at approximately 12PM a male, later identified as Bret Martinson, 31, of Quincy responded to the MBTA's Andrew Square station with the stolen bicycle to sell to the unsuspecting buyer (undercover TPD detective). The bicycle was positively identified as stolen from Quincy Center MBTA and Martinson was placed into custody for Receiving Stolen Property.
