Trespasser struck in Cambridge

On January 21, 2018 at approximately 12:15PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Cambridge for a person possibly struck by a train. Several TPD units along with Cambridge Fire and EMS responded. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity of the Fawcet Street was struck by an inbound Fitchburg Line MBTA commuter rail train . The male, approx age of 60, has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives along with the Middlesex County DA's Office are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.
