Trespasser struck Confirmed fatality. South Weymouth CR.

Death Investigation

On July 7, 2017 at approximately 9:20AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the South Weymouth Commuter Rail for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple Transit Police units along with Weymouth Fire and EMS responded. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a female, approximate age of 23, while trespassing on the Right of Way was struck by an outbound MBTA Commuter Rail train. The female has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives and representatives from the Norfolk County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.
