TPD confirms fatality North Andover; trespasser struck


Death Investigation
On May 9, 2017 at approximately 11:18PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to North Andover for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple TPD units along with North Andover Fire and EMS responded. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male trespassing on the Right of Way was struck by an Haverhill Line MBTA Commuter Rail train in the vicinity of Sutton Street Crossing, North Andover. The male, age unknown, has been pronounced deceased as result of injuries sustained.


Transit Police detectives along with representatives from the Essex County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
