On January 8, 2017 at approximately 10:15AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's South Station Bus Terminal for a report of a larceny. Upon arrival officers were met by the victim who informed the officers an unknown witness approached him and described two males who walked off with his travel bag. The officers quickly located two males (in front of the Terminal) fitting the description provided and noticed the victim's travel bag was secreted behind a door but in close proximity to the sp males.
Officers approached the males, later identified as Amo Rodriguez, 38, of Lowell and Jaime White, 27, of East Boston. Officers discovered White had a warrant in existence for his arrest issued out of Worcester District Court for Possession of a Class A Substance and Rodriguez was in violation of the State's Sex Offender Registry's Laws. Both subjects were placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
The victim was reunited with his possessions and did wish to pursue any charges.
