Dorchester man punches out MBTA Train window

On December 17, 2016 at approximately 10:35PM members of the Transit Police MOP Unit received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's JFK/UMass station for a report of a passenger who "punched out a train window". Upon arrival officers were met by an MBTA employee who pointed out a male, later identified as Marco Haynes, 25 of Boston, and informed the officers Haynes for no apparent reason punched a train car window causing it to spider web crack. Officers approached Haynes, who was still seated inside the train. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol about Haynes' person and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for Haynes' arrest issued from Dorchester District Court for Assault & Battery on a Family/Household member, Resisting Arrest, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon 2 counts, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property Over 250.00 and Disorderly Conduct.


Haynes was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Haynes will be additionally charged with Malicious Destruction of Property Over 250.00.
