Observant TPD Detective makes Armed Robbery Arrest.

 On August 18, 2022 at approximately 9:30PM a male victim reported to Transit Police officers they were a victim of an Armed Robbery (Knife) at the MBTA's Downtown Crossing Station. The victim provided a description of 2 suspects, a male and a female, and alleged they stole his watch, cash, iPhone and wallet containing personal papers. Transit Police detectives subsequent to an investigation have two individuals of interest but have not yet identified these suspects.

On September 7, 2022 at approximately 10AM a Transit Police detective observed a female matching the description of the suspect from the above referenced robbery on Southampton Street. The detective engaged the suspect, later identified as Kathleen Russell, 37, of Boston and Russell was positively identified as the individual involved in the alleged Armed Robbery. Russell was placed into custody and transported to TPD-HQ for he arrest booking process. During this process it was discovered Russell had warrants in existence for her arrest issued out of Malden District Court for Felony Breaking & Entering at Nightime and Charlestown District Court for Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Controlled Substances.
