Adam Smith |
On April 9, 2020 at approximately 11PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to meet an inbound Red Line train at the MBTA's Kendall station for a male committing a lewd act on board the train. Upon arrival officers were met by the reporting party who pointed out a male, later identified as Adam Smith, 48, of Boston and stated Smith was committing a lewd act with his genitals fully exposed to everyone on the train. Officers approached Smith who was still seated on the train at this time and smoking a cigarette. Officers requested Smith exit the train. Smith immediately became belligerent, refused to comply or extinguish his cigarette and called the officers homophobic slurs.
The officers were forced to engage in a physical struggle with Smith and eventually placed him into custody. Smith was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. Smith will be charged with Open & Gross Lewdness, Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
