Trespasser at Central Sq. MBTA station.

On September 2, 2019 at approximately 7PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call for an individual trespassing on the right of way at Central MBTA station in Cambridge. TPD officers/detectives on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, approximate age of 35, jumped into the "pit" area. While trespassing in the right of way the male came into contact with the third rail. As a result the male has been pronounced deceased.

TPD detectives are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play NOT suspected.

On September 2, 2019 at approximately 11:10AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Leominster for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train near North Leominster MBTA station. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Leominster Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A female, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on the Fitchburg line. The female has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.


Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is NOT suspected.

Trespasser struck Middleborough. Confirmed fatality

On September 1, 2019 at approximately 10:50AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to Middleborough for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Middleborough Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on the Middleborough/Lakeville line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

On August 22, 2019 at approximately 6:20AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Gloucester for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Gloucester Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on the Gloucester Branch. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Trespasser struck Belmont.

On August 19, 2019 at approximately 6:20AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Belmont, Brighton Street Crossing, for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Belmont Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, approximate age of 21, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on the Fitchburg Line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Mattapan Sq. MBTA

On August 19, 2019 at approximately 2:10AM Transit & Boston Police responded to the vicinity of Mattapan Sq. MBTA station for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival officers located a male victim suffering from a non life threatening gunshot wound. Officers also received information a second male self applied to a local area hospital for a non life threatening gunshot wound. Both victims, a 23 year old male and a 35 year old male, were struck by the gun fire in the busway area.

Transit Police detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
