On December 5, 2021 at approximately 1AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Alewife station for an unknown disturbance. Upon arrival officers mediated a verbal dispute between two parties and it appeared as if the situation was resolved. Not so fast. A male, later identified as Michael Fleming, 28, of Quincy who had nothing to do with the matter nor any relationship to the parties involved decided he was going to insert himself into the already resolved matter. Fleming began to verbally berate the officers using loud and obscene language. Officers made multiple attempts to calm Fleming to no avail. At one point after being told if he didn't calm down he would be escorted from the station Fleming picked up his skateboard and challenged the officers to "Earn your f****** paycheck". Officers then informed Fleming based on his tumultuous conduct he would have to vacate the station. Fleming ignored the officers demands and continued to cause a disturbance.
After continued efforts to coax Fleming to leave and clam down officers ultimately placed Fleming into custody for Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing. Fleming was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During the booking process it was discovered there were several warrants for Fleming's arrest issued out of Quincy District Court for Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon and two separate additional warrants for Violation of a Abuse Prevention Order.
