Hubbardston man causes disturbance;Arrested.

Joseph Dufour
On April 3, 2014 at approximately 7:20 pm Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call to respond to Porter Sq. MBTA Commuter Rail station for a report of a male who was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers were directed to the platform area where a male was waving his arms about and shouting profanities. Officers interviewed several witness who stated the male, later identified as Joseph Dufour, 32 of Hubbardston, appeared intoxicated, spat upon a passenger and called another passenger a derogatory name. As the train entered Porter Sq. the train conductor informed Dufour he would have to exit the train. Dufour refused and the conductor contacted Transit Police.

Officers approached Dufour, who also noted he exhibited signs of intoxication, and attempted to calm him down. Dufour refused the officers requests and continued his tumultuous behavior. Ultimately Dufour was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct, as the officers were escorting Dufour to their cruiser he attempted to spit on them. Fortunately Dufour was not successful and he was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Dufour will be arraigned sometime today in Cambridge District Court for Disorderly Conduct.
