MV accident Allston.

On June 28, 2019 at approximately 2:23AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the vicinity of 353 Cambridge Street in Allston for a motor vehicle on the tracks possibly blocking MBTA Commuter Rail right of way. Upon arrival officers observed a 2003 BMW 530 with substantial damage positioned across the tracks. The Driver of the vehicle, a 26 year old male with a Lynn address, was being treated and prepared for transport by Boston EMS personnel. The driver was ultimately transported to a local area hospital for non life threatening injuries sustained in the accident. A preliminary investigation suggests the driver coming from Franklin Street somehow drove over a curb and through the protective barrier fence and onto the tracks passing over 5 rails of track rendering his vehicle inoperable.

Due to the operator being transported to the hospital TPD officers were unable to complete their investigation. The investigation is still active as to the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Aquarium Update: Juvenile male identified and arrested

On June 23, 2019 we advised our riding public on an incident regarding a shooting at the Aquarium MBTA station. (see posting here).
Subsequent to a thorough and in-depth investigation conducted by Transit Police detectives a 16 year old male juvenile of Roxbury has been identified and arrested. The juvenile male is subject to the following charges:  Carrying a Loaded Firearm w/out a License, Possession of Ammunition, Discharge of a Firearm within 500 feet of a Building and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (4 counts).


Based on the defendant's age NO further information will be released.

Aquarium Station

On June 23, 2019 at approximately 9:50PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Aquarium Station for a report of shots fired: A preliminary investigation suggest there was an unknown disturbance onboard an inbound Blue Line train involving several juvenile males. The disturbance continued onto the platform at Aquarium station. At some point as the juvenile males were proceeding out of the station at least two shots were fired from an unknown calibre handgun. NO one was struck. The station will remain closed until we thoroughly process the scene.

This is an active and ongoing investigation being handled by Transit Police detectives. No further information will be released at this time.

Supt. Sullivan, " We are extremely grateful no one was injured during tonight's incident and all available resources will be deployed to identify, locate and apprehend the person/s responsible for such reckless and criminal conduct".

Abington man wanted for Assaulting Police Officer nabbed by TPD

Jeremy Derusha

On June 20, 2019 at approximately 10AM members of the TPD's Crime Suppression Team were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. Station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Jeremy Derusha, 31, of Abington. Derusha fare evaded by "Piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Derusha for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued out of Quincy District Court for Felony Larceny, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Attempt to Commit a Crime, Disorderly, Trespass, Drug Possession and Brighton District Court for Felony Larceny.

Derusha was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Duo caught stealing bicycles at MBTA Alewife Station

Joseph Fiasconaro

On June 18, 2019 at approximately 11:40PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Alewife station for a report of suspicious males by the bicycle racks/cage. Upon arrival the officers located two males, later identified as Joseph Fiasconaro, 20, of Boston and Jeremiah Springer, 18, of Roxbury, on the platform in possession of two bicycles. Subsequent to an investigation, to include witness statements, it was determined Fiasconaro and Springer utilized bolt cutters to steal the bicycles from the bike rack.

Fiasconaro and Springer were placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Transit Police arrest Brockton man for Lewdness.

Steven Ford

On January 24, 2019 at approximately 11:40PM a female victim reported to Transit Police while on the 5th floor of the Salem MBTA parking facility she was approached by an unknown male who exposed himself and requested a sex act from her.

Subsequent to an investigation conducted by Transit Police detectives, Steven Ford, 44, of Brockton was placed into custody for Open & Gross Lewdness on June 5, 2019. Ford was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

The subject depicted above is wanted for questioning relative to an Aggravated Assault & Battery. The incident occurred on an Orange Line MBTA train upon approach to State Street MBTA Station, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at approximately 3:25 pm.

Fatality: Fairmount trespasser struck

On June 1 2019 at approximately 10:30AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to MBTA Fairmount Commuter Rail station for a report of person possibly struck by a train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Boston Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an outbound commuter rail train on the Fairmount Line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injures sustained.


Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is NOT suspected.
