On December 31, 2008 at approximately 9:30PM 16 year old Devonte Franklin was stabbed multiple times while riding on an MBTA Route 28 bus in the vicinity of Blue Hill Avenue and Harvard Street in Dorchester. Tragically Devonte did not survive this horrendous and senseless attack. It's an understatement to say Devonte's murder was devastating to his family, friends and all those who knew him.

Ten years have passed since Devonte's murder and the person responsible has yet to be identified. The Transit Police Department will never give up on this case. On this ten year anniversary mark we implore anyone with information, however slight, relative to Devonte's murder and the identity of his killer to contact us. Devonte deserves your help.

Please furnish any and all information you may have to the Transit Police Criminal Investigation Unit at 617-222-1050. Person of Interest RE: Assault by means of Dangerous Weapon

On December 24, 2018 at approximately 5:40PM a physical altercation took place inside an MBTA Red Line train car in the vicinity of JFK/UMass Station. As a result a male victim sustained a non life threatening stab wound. The individual depicted within is wanted for questioning relative to this investigation.

Quincy man caught selling a stolen bicycle on craigslist

On November 13, 2018 a commuter's bicycle was stolen from the MBTA's Quincy Center station. Shortly after the incident the victim's bicycle was posted for sale on Craigslist. Transit Police detectives contacted the poster and made arrangements to "Buy" the bicycle.


On December 18, 2018 at approximately 12PM  a male, later identified as Bret Martinson, 31, of Quincy responded to the MBTA's Andrew Square station with the stolen bicycle to sell to the unsuspecting buyer (undercover TPD detective). The bicycle was positively identified as stolen from Quincy Center MBTA and Martinson was placed into custody for Receiving Stolen Property. Martinson was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

TPD Officer & his faithful partner interupt robbery in progress.

On December 12, 2018 at approximately 9:25PM Dimitri Lawson, 21, of Dorchester entered an eating establishment located in the Fields Corner section of Dorchester. Lawson walked behind the counter and struck the employee in the face and began to force open the cash register. At this time a patron who was present ran outside and flagged down a passing Transit Police officer and informed him of the robbery in progress.  The Transit Police officer and his K9 partner Molly immediately proceeded to the establishment. The TPD officer and Molly entered the store were others pointed out Lawson. Lawson was standing at the counter over a broken cash register. The officer gave commands to Lawson who refused to comply and exhibited signs he would assault the officer. The officer warned Lawson if he continued his aggression and refuse to comply with lawful commands he would release Molly. Lawson challenged the officer to "Send it to me" (referring to Molly) and advanced forward in an aggressive manner towards the officer. Molly was released. Lawson with a closed fist struck Molly in her head. Molly undeterred continued to engaged Lawson and attempted to subdue his aggression. Ultimately Molly, her handler and two Boston Police officers placed Lawson into custody.


Lawson was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process it was discovered several warrants for Lawson's arrest were in existence issued from Dorchester District Court for Breaking & Entering 2 counts, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Resisting Arrest

Quincy man headbutts train car window.

On December 6, 2018 at approximately 8AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Andrew Sq. Station for a report of an individual who was threatening passengers and destroying MBTA property. Upon arrival officers observed a train window that had a large spider web crack. Officers then located a male, later identified as Daniel Simmons, 25, of Quincy who matched the description provided inside the train car. Officers were also informed Simmons had threatened passengers if they told police on him.


Officers asked Simmons if he had anything to do with the broken window. Simmons replied he was speaking to someone on his cell phone who made him angry so he decided to head butt the window.


Simmons was placed into custody for Malicious Destruction of Property Over 250.00 and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Bus Motor Vehicle accident Roslindale.

On December 6, 2018 at approximately 1:10PM a route 32 MBTA bus was operating south on Hyde Park Avenue. The vehicle in front of the MBTA bus, a 2016 Volkswagon Passat, attempted to take a right hand turn onto Canterbury Street when the operator was forced to brake abruptly to avoid striking a pedestrian who suddenly entered into the crosswalk at the intersection of Hyde Park Ave and Canterbury Street. As a result of the sudden stop the MBTA bus struck the rear of the Volkswagon which in turn rolled forward striking a pedestrian and another vehicle stopped in traffic, a Ford Escape.


There was a total of 5 reported injuries all minor in nature. There was one passenger on board the bus at the time of accident. The incident remains under investigation by Transit Police detectives. Speed is not believed to be a factor.

Haverhill man arrested for Open & Gross Lewdness on board MBTA Commuter Rail train.

On December 3, 2018 at approximately 1:55PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's North Station Commuter Rail Track 8 for a male exposing himself. Upon arrival officers were met by victims who relayed the following: A male, later identified as Keith Comeau, 38, of Haverhill was traveling on an inbound Haverhill Line commuter rail train. Inexplicably Comeau stood at the head of the car lowered his pants and underpants, fully exposing his genitals, and began to urinate on the train car floor. This was done in view of approximately 30-40 patrons also on board the train.


Keolis personnel pointed out Comeau to TPD officers who quickly placed Comeau into custody inside North Station for Open & Gross Lewdness. Comeau was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
