Juvenile male assaults TPD officer.

 On October 27, 2022, at approximately 4:50PM Transit Police officers were in the area of Downtown Crossing (Summer & Arch Street) when a 14-year-old male threw an unwrapped condom at them and then smashed his hand against their cruiser's windshield. The juvenile and his companions then fled running through a crowd of people causing pedestrians to jump out their way and into the street to avoid being knocked over. The officers caught up to the offending juvenile a short distance away. The juvenile was non-compliant and hurled numerous expletives at the officers. Ultimately the juvenile male with a closed fist punched the officer in his chest. At this time the juvenile, 14 of Dorchester, was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Dorchester man arrested for Indecently Assaulting a 15 & 18 year old.

 On October 15, 2022 at approximately 7:30PM two females, age 15 and 18, while on an MBTA Red Line train were Indecently Assaulted by an unknown male. The assaults took place on the train just outside Broadway Station. As a result of a Transit Police detective investigation a suspect was developed and a Person of Interest Poster was generated. On October 25, 2022 at approximately 6PM a very observant TPD officer spotted a male whom he believed resembled the subject depicted in the poster. The officer approached the male just outside of Downtown Crossing on Winter Place. The male, later identified as Edgar Alonzo, 35, of Dorchester, was positively identified as the offending male and placed into custody for Indecent Assault & Battery 2 counts and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

East Boston man assault Lyft driver at Wonderland Station.

 On October 8, 2022 at approximately 1:27AM a Transit Police officer while at the MBTA Wonderland Station was flagged down by a male victim who relayed the following: Victim is a Lyft driver and responded to the MBTA Wonderland Station for a customer who ordered a ride for a single passenger. Upon arrival however the victim observed two customers, a female and the SP male, and they proceeded to enter the victim's vehicle. The Victim attempted to explain the Lyft order was only for a single person. The SP male became angry. The Victim tried to ease the situation by informing the SP male he would cancel the order for no charge. The female upon hearing this exited the victim's vehicle. The SP male however refused to exit but proceeded to the victim's passenger door and with a closed fist struck victim in the face and then again in the Victim's ear. Sp male then fled. 

Officers observed fresh blood dripping from Victim's face as well as a laceration above his right eye. The Victim supplied the officers with a description of the offending male and shortly thereafter officers located both the SP male and his female companion near the parking garage. The SP male admitted to assaulting the Victim and was positively identified. The SP male, a 30 year old East Boston resident, will be summoned into court for Assault and Battery.  Victim refused medical attention.

Two Boston men face assault charges over loud music.

 On September 22, 2022 at approximately 5:10PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Ruggles Station for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival officers were met by the participants and witnesses. The following is a synopsis of what they deciphered: A 34 year old Boston man while traveling on an Orange Line train was playing music on his phone's speakers because he claimed not to have headphones. A fellow female passenger requested he turn the music down as she believed it was too loud. The male rejected his fellow passenger's request. At this time a 67 year old man, also from Boston, confronted the alleged loud music playing man and demanded he turn down the volume. The music player allegedly responded with some expletives and suggested the 67 year old man mind his own business. Not satisfied with that the 67 year old man punched the music player in the mouth. In response the music player administered strikes back hitting the 67 year old in the head. The two were ultimately separated by other passengers. 

The 67 year old was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation. Both parties will be summoned into Roxbury District Court on assault charges.

Roxbury man caught Tagging at MBTA Copley Station

 On September 15, 2022 at approximately 8:10PM a Transit Police officer was working a paid detail relative to the MBTA Bus Diversion at Copley Station. While there the officer was approached by a citizen who informed the officer a male was inside the Copley station actively spray painting the walls. The reporting party provided a detailed description of the offending male. The officer immediately proceeded in that direction and came upon a male, later identified as Jeremiah Springer, 22, of Roxbury who matched the description provided. Springer was walking way from the station and shaking a can of spray paint. The officer engaged Springer in conversation and subsequently determined there were several warrants in existence for Springer's arrest issued out of  Boston Municipal Court for Assault & Battery w/a Dangerous Weapon, Resisting Arrest, Interfering with a Police Officer, Trespassing, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Possession w/Intent to Distribute Controlled Narcotics, West Roxbury DC for Assault w/Dangerous Weapon, Intimidation of a Witness and Cambridge DC for Larceny and Malicious Destruction of Property. 

Springer was placed into custody and transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process. Springer will also be charged with Tagging. (The only legible words of the Tagging had "GANG" in it.)

Quincy man bites MBTA official.

 On September 13, 2022 at approximately 7:45AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Fields Corner Station for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers observed a male, later identified as Sean Kenneally, 32, of Quincy being restrained by a Boston Fire Fighter and an MBTA worker. Officers immediately intervened and took control of Kenneally. Officers then spoke with the victim/MBTA official who provided the following statement: The Victim was flagged down by patrons who informed him there was a male, later identified as Kenneally, yelling obscenities and spitting towards other passengers on the inbound platform. When the MBTA official went to see what Kenneally's issue was Kennaeally responded with a  close fist that struck the victim in the face and also bit him on his hand breaking the skin. 

Kenneally was transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process and the victim was transported to a local area hospital for the bite wound.

Boston woman w/multiple warrants arrested at Ashmont Station for assault.

 On September 8, 2022 at approximately 9:30PM Transit Police officers on patrol at the MBTA's Ashmont Station were alerted to an assault and immediately went to investigate. Officers received the following information from the victims: A male and female couple were utilizing the bathroom when another female, later identified as Tasheaka Buchanan, 27, of Boston began to knock on the door demanding they hurry and get out. A few moments later the couple emerged from the bathroom and an argument ensued about Buchanon's agressive behavior and lack of patience. Buchanon responded by striking both victims with a closed fist in their heads. A Transit Ambassador intervened and attempted to shield the couple from further assault.

Officers caught up to Buchanon, still at the station, and observed she exhibited signs of intoxication it is alleged she made a statement to the officers with words to the effect she should have "drank more today".... Subsequently officers discovered there were several warrants in existence for Buchanon's arrest issued out of Roxbury District Court for Assault & Battery, South Boston DC for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Boston Municipal Court for Abuse Prevention Order-Violation and Dorchester District Court for Assault & Battery w/a Dangerous Weapon 3 counts, Receiving Stolen Property, Larceny and Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle. Buchanon was placed into custody and transported to TPD-HQ for the arrest booking process.
