Boston man draws attention to himself...... he was a Wanted Fugitive....

 On July 30, 2022 at approximately 1:55AM a Transit Police officer assigned to the South District was at the MBTA's Ashmont Station on patrol when he was alerted to an individual who was urinating on the elavator. The officer immediately proceeded in that direction and observed a male, later identified as Stephen Burton, 57, of Boston urinating on the elevator doors. The officer instructed Burton to cease however Burton continued to relieve himself without regard for whom may pass by. 

Subsequent to the officer's encounter with Burton it was discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued out of Middlesex Superior Court for Assault & Battery on a 60+/Disabled Person with serious Injuries, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault & Battery on a 60+/Disabled Person 3 counts and Intimidation of a Witness. Burton was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process it was additionally discovered there was an extraditable warrant for Burton's arrest issued from Rhode Island for Fraud. Rhode Island authorities were notified and confirmed they would seek to take custody of Burton through the Massachusetts court system.

Rayham man arrested by TPD at Davis Sq. MBTA

 On July 28, 2022 at approximately 2:30PM a Transit Police officer assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Davis Sq. station for reports of a male attempting to steal a bicycle. Upon arrival the SP male had left the area however a diligent TPD officer based on a detailed description conducted an area search and located a male, later identified as John Kinney, 34, of Rayham in close proximity matching the description. The officer engaged Kinney in conversation relative to his alleged conduct inside the bicycle cage. It was soon discovered there were two outstanding warrants in existence for Kinney's arrest issued out of Taunton District Court for Shoplifting and Cambridge District Court for Receiving Stolen Property. Kinney was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During the booking process Kinney was found to be in possession of bolt cutters, wire snips, wrenches, a tool set and a bicycle pump.

Wanted Fugitive arrested by TPD.

 On July 28, 2022 at approximately 12;20PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Park Street Station for a report of an assault., Upon arrival officers were met by a female victim who relayed the following: while standing near the Green Line fare gates a male, later identified as Emir Ikanovic, 33, of West Bridgewater, approached wrapped his arms around the victim and kissed her on both cheeks. Ikonovic then proceeded to enter the trolley. According to the victim Ikanovic did not say anything while hugging and kissing her. 

Officers immediately proceeded to the trolley Ikanovic was on and removed him. Ikanovic asked the officers what he did wrong....... It was subsequently discovered there was an extraditable warrant in existence for Ikanovic's arrest issued out of  Rhode Island for fraud. Ikanovic was placed into custody for the warrant as well as new charges of Assault & Battery and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Juvenile male arrested for armed assault of Keolis conductor.

 On July 23, 2022 at approximately 11:10PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's South Station Commuter Rail for a report of a Keolis conductor being threatened with a knife. Upon arrival officers were met by the victim who relayed the following: The conductor believing he was being helpful asked a female passenger where she was traveling to ensure she was on the proper train. After he did so a male juvenile armed with a knife at his side stated to the victim, " Why you talking to my shorty ". The victim attempted to explain he was trying to help but the juvenile male shouted over him while displaying his knife and advanced closer to the victim. Victim believed he was in imminent danger of being assaulted. The victim broke away and exited the train and called police.

The juvenile male was still on board the train at this time and officers boarded and requested he exit. The juvenile male declared to the officers," You can't arrest me I'm only 17 !". The juvenile male was placed into custody for Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.

Boston woman bites and spits at TPD officers after dousing T operator with beer.

 On July 19, 2022 at approximately 10PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the intersection of Columbia Road and Washington Street in Dorchester for a disorderly group on board an MBTA bus. The group had fled prior to the officers arrival. The officers were met by the T operator who relayed a female poured, what the victim believed to be beer, over his head. Another member of the group kicked the buses door window prior to fleeing. The window sustained a spider web crack as a result. Based on a detailed description provided of the male who kicked the window and the female who doused the operator with beer the officers performed an area search and located the offending female, later identified as Shatia Butler, 24, of Boston and a male juvenile, 16, of Roxbury on Columbia Road. 

The juvenile male was compliant and will be summoned into court for Malicious Destruction of Property and he was turned over to his guardian.

Butler was positively identified as the person responsible for assaulting the bus operator. Officers informed Butler she was being placed into custody. Butler resisted all efforts to be placed into the transport vehicle and once inside attempted to prevent the door from closing. Butler also spit in the face of the arresting officer. Butler was eventually transported to TPD HQ. While at TPD HQ Butler became more combative and refused the booking process. Butler bit an officer and spit at another. Finally, when Butler was identified it was discovered there were several warrants in existence for her arrest issued out of Brockton District Court, Boston District Court-Central Division and Dedham District Court all for Larceny. Butler to be additionally charged with Assault & Battery on an MBTA employee, 4 counts of A&B on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.

Identification Sought re: Civil Rights violation investigation.

 On July 9, 2022 at approximately 4PM at the MBTA's Park Street Green Line outbound platform a female was the victim of a homophobic slur as well as a Assault & Battery. The offending male tossed liquid from his cup hitting the victim and her dog. Please take a look of a person of interest relative to this investigation.
