On May 29, 2018 at approximately 3PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to Wellesley for a report of a person possibly struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Wellesley Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, age unknown, while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity of Western Road Bridge, Wellesley was struck by a inbound train on Track 2 on the Worcester Line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.
TPD Detectives are on scene and investigating along with the Norfolk County DA's Office. Foul play is NOT suspected.

Transit Police K9 Striker to receive Body Armor donated by Vested Interest.

Police Department’s K9 Striker to get donation of body armor
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East
Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and
other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the
United States. The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement
agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9
officers. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provided over 2,900
protective vests, in 50 states, through private and corporate donations, at a
value of $5.7 million dollars.
The program is open to dogs actively employed in
the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and at
least 20 months of age. New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests,
are eligible to participate.
The donation to provide one protective vest for a
law enforcement K9 is $950.00. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283
and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 lbs. There is an
estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States. For more

Boston man arrested for Indecent Assault on Orange Line.
On May 2, 2018 at approximately 5:15AM a female victim reported the following to the Transit Police: Victim boarded an inbound Orange Line train from Malden Center. While standing inside the train a male positioned himself very close to her. Shortly thereafter the offending male Indecently Assaulted the victim.
Subsequent to an investigation conducted by TPD Detectives, Gregory Rieschick, 38, of Charlestown was identified, located and placed into custody on May 16, 2018 at the MBTA's Community College station. Rieschick was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
