Accident Investigation Acton

On September 29, 2014 at approximately 7:45pm Transit Police officers working in Area2 received a radio call to respond to Acton for a vehicle possibly struck by a commuter rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Acton Police and Fire. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information : in the vicinity of 555 Massachusetts Avenue and Elm Street/Route 110 in Acton, MA., a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander being operated by a 63 year old female from Stow was traveling westbound when her vehicle was struck by an MBTA Commuter Rail Inbound (Fitchburg Line) train. The operator suffered NON life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital. The vehicle sustained substantial damage. No other injuries were reported. There were approximately 25 passengers on board at the time of the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggest the grade crossing gates were functioning properly and engaged prior to the vehicle entering.

Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances leading to the incident.

On Thursday, 9/25/14, at 7:55 p.m., the male subject depicted within indecently assaulted a female patron at Mass Ave. Station and fled on foot via the Southwest Corridor.

Point of Entry Policing nets person wanted for Kidnapping

Tina Lunn

On September 28, 2014 at approximately 11:25am a Transit Police officer on patrol at the MBTA's Quincy Center station had her attention drawn to a female, later identified as Tina Lunn, 37, of Braintree. Lunn was smoking a cigarette in the entrance to the station where there are conspicuously posted No Smoking signs. The officer approached Lunn to remind her of the laws prohibiting smoking on MBTA property. Lunn furnished a false name and date of birth to the officer, however the name Lunn provided belonged to a real person who had a warrant out for her arrest. (We know we were thinking the same thing !!) When informed there was a warrant out for her arrest Lunn did not come clean with her misleading information but rather continued through the entire booking process as her new assumed name. Eventually officers discovered Lunn's true identity were it was revealed there were several warrants in existence for her arrest issued from Hingham District Court for Assault & Battery w/a Dangerous Weapon 3 counts, Kidnapping and Possession of Chemical Mace w/out an FID card. Additonally, there was a warrant for Larceny Over 250.00 issued from Salem District Court. Lunn will also be charged with False name during Booking process and was issued a smoking citation.

Statement regarding alleged plot against subways in America

Statement from Chief Paul MacMillan, MBTA TRansit Police:

 

The MBTA is aware of the recent report pertaining to alleged subway plots in Europe and elsewhere.  We continue to be in close contact with the State Police, the Boston Police, the Boston Office of the FBI and the Transportation Security Administration. There is no information that either the MBTA or Boston is a specific subject of this report. As always, we ask that customers and employees remain vigilant and report any suspicious incidents to the MBTA Transit Police.

On Friday, September 5, 2014, at approximately 8:45 AM, the male subject depicted within deliberately damaged the fare gates at Wood Island Station causing over $ 3000.00 in damages.

Transit Police arrest 2 for attempting to beak into MV's

Colin McCuen

On September 21, 2014 at approximately 8:30pm Transit Police officers were on patrol at the MBTA's Braintree parking garage. While there they observed two individuals, later identified as Colin McCuen, 18, of Quincy and a 17 year old male juvenile from South Weymouth, attempting to gain entry into several parked motor vehicles. McCuen and the juvenile were also in possession of backpacks. After unsuccessful attempts to enter the motor vehicles officers approached the duo. Both were found to be in possession of several items stolen from previous motor vehicle break-ins which occurred at the Braintree MBTA garage as well as Burglarious instruments.

Both McCuen and the male juvenile were placed into custody for Attempted B&E of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Burglarious Instruments and Receiving Stolen Property and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. During the booking process it was discovered there were two warrants in existence for the 17 year old male juvenile issued from Norfolk County Juvenile Court for Receiving Stolen Property and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Accident Investigation Davis sq.

Accident investigation

On September 19, 2014 at approximately 6:35pm Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call to respond to Davis Sq. MBTA station for a person possibly struck by an MBTA bus. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Somerville Police and Fire. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a Route 94 bus from Davis Sq. heading to Medford Sq. was on College Avenue just outside the station when, a preliminary investigation suggests, a male walked into the side of the bus sustaining serious injuries. The male has been transported to a local area hospital for emergency treatment.

Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances leading to the incident.
