Trespasser struck by train in Acton, MA-Fatal

On March 29, 2013 at approximately 3:55pm Transit Police officers from Area 2 were dispatched to Acton ,MA for a trespasser struck by an MBTA Commuter Rail train. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a white male approximately 20-25 years of age trespassing on Track 2 was struck by an inbound Fitchburg Line train in the vicinity of mile marker 24. The male has been pronounced deceased. Acton Police and Fire also responded and assisted. The facts and circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation by Transit Police detectives.

Man sells drugs to undercover Transit Police detective

On March 27, 2013 at approximately 7:30 pm plainclothe Transit Police detectives/officers were at MBTA Back Bay station to address concerns of illicit drug transactions taking place. While there an undercover Transit Police detective did purchase Oxycodone's from a male, later identified as Eric Simmons, 53 of Weymouth. Oxycodone is a controlled Class B Substance. Simmons was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. During this time it was discovered there was an active warrant in existence for Simmons' arrest issued from Plymouth Superior Court for violation of the Commonwealth's drug laws. Simmons is expected to be arraigned sometime today in Boston Municipal Court for Distribution of a Controlled Class B Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Class B Substance.

On Monday, March 3, 2013, at approximately 12:45pm, a victim was assaulted while aboard a Orange Line southbound train at Back Bay MBTA Station.

The subject was described as a white male, approximately 6’00" in height, dark hair, mid twenties to early thirties. He was wearing black sunglasses, a ¾ length dark blue coat, dark pants and black shoes.  The subject was observed boarding a  train at Downtown Crossing MBTA Station and continued southbound after the assault at Back Bay.

Man with Warrant creates scene and yells at Police

On March 25, 2013 at approximately 4:20 pm plainclothes Transit Police officers from Area 1 were on patrol at Park Street MBTA station. While there their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Richard Lawson, 32 of Boston who was loitering and not utilizing any of the numerous trains that had come through. Officers approached Lawson and identified themselves as Transit Police officers.  Before officers could engage him in conversation Lawson began to inexplicably shout obscenities at the officers and spit in their direction. Lawson's disorderly behavior continued and officers were eventually able to ascertain there was an active warrant in existence for his arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court for Larceny Over 250.00. Lawson was placed into custody for the warrant and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Lawson will appear sometime today in BMC.

Man arrested for threatening MBTA operator

On March 23, 2013 at approximately 9:00 pm Transit Police officers from Area 3 responded to Ashmont MBTA station for a report of a trolley operator being assaulted. Upon arrival officers interviewed the victim/T employee who stated the following: while at Ashmont T station she was angrily approached by a male, later identified as James Robinson, 53 of Mattapan, who demanded she open the rear doors so he (Robinson) could board. It was explained to Robinson he must enter via the front door and pay his fare. Upon hearing this, Robinson began pounding on the trolley's front window, claimed to be armed with a knife and threatened to stab the female operator if she did not open the rear doors. Transit Police officers placed Robinson into custody for Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon and transported him to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. Robinson was arraigned in Dorchester District Court earlier today.

On Tuesday, 03/19/13, at approximately 6:05 PM, on an inbound Red Line train from Alewife MBTA Station, the male depicted within was photographed after attempting to initiate conversation with women while committing a lewd act.

Operation Fare Game nets another one.

On March 22, 2013 at approximately 6:20 pm plainclothes Transit Police officers from Area 1 were at Downtown Crossing MBTA station conducting fare evasion enforcement. While there their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Christian Fitzgerald, 23 of Roxbury, who entered through the exit only gate without paying his fare. Officers approached Fitzgerald for the purpose of  issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were outstanding warrants for his arrest. Fitzgerald was wanted from Boston Municipal Court for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Larceny from the Person and additionally from Fall River District Court for Municipal Ordinance Violations. Fitzgerald was placed into custody without incident and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. During this time Fitzgerald was found to be in possession of marijuana, less then an ounce. Fitzgerald was issued a citation for fare evasion and will appear in Boston Municipal Court on Monday 03/25/2013.
