80 year old male assaulted at MBTA Park Street Station.

On August 12, 2022 at approximately 10AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Park Street Station Green Line for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers located an 80 year old male victim laying on the ground and bleeding from his face. Officers immediately rendered aid and received the following information: The victim observed a male, later identified as James Walsh, 66, of Holbrook in possession of a bag the victim claimed was his. The victim approached Walsh in a attempt to reclaim his bag and a altercation ensued. Ultimately the victim alleged Walsh struck him with a closed fist knocking him to the ground then proceeded to punch and kick the victim several more times about his head and body. A concerned citizen pulled Walsh away from the victim and TPD officers arrived.

Walsh was placed into custody for Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Shod Foot and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local area hospital for emergency care.
