On August 8, 2018 at approximately 6:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Campello Commuter Rail station for a report of 4 motor vehicles that were vandalized. Upon arrival officers discovered 3 of the 4 vehicles had left the scene. Officers spoke with one vehicle owner remaining; on that vehicle the passenger side window had been smashed in and loose change was taken. Officers were able to identify the 3 other vehicle's owners who sustained similar damage. The matter is under investigation by Transit Police detectives.
Transit Police have deployed our SkyWatch tower and will increase our visible presence in the area to deter future acts of vandalism.
