Trespasser struck in Belmont

On March 8, 2018 at approximately 9:10PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Belmont for a report of a person possibly struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Belmont Fire and EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, approximate age of 60's, while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity of Brighton Street, Belmont was struck by a Fitchburg bound train. The male sustained life threatening injuries and has been transported to a local area hospital for emergency care.

TPD Detectives are on scene and investigating. Foul play is NOT suspected.
