On March 7, 2014 at approximately 2 pm Transit Police officers working in Area 1 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at MBTA Tufts Medical Center station. While there they observed a male, later identified as
Giovanny Perdomo, 35 of Jamaica Plain, fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Perdomo for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for Perdomo's arrest issued from; Boston Municipal Court for Possession of a Class A Substance, Roxbury District Court for Possession of a Class A Substance, Quincy District Court for Possession of a Class A Substance, Brighton District Court for Shoplifting over 100.00 and Chelsea District Court for Driving without a License. Perdomo was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Perdomo was also issued a citation for fare evasion.
