Juvenile arrested for illegal possession of firearm.

On March 20, 2017 at approximately 2pm a Transit Police officer assigned to the Central District was on patrol at the MBTA's Back Bay station when his attention was drawn to 3 male juveniles seated on a bench on Track 7. The officer noticed the juveniles appeared to be rolling marijuana cigarettes. The officer approached the 3 juveniles confirmed his suspicion and also observed a woman's purse and passport . The juveniles could not explain why they were in possession of the purse or passport nor could they provide a name of the rightful owner.


Subsequent to a further investigation the officer seized a loaded .22 Caliber handgun with additional bullets in the magazine from one of the male juveniles, 17 years of age from Jamaica Plain.

The juvenile was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
