Follow Investigation leads to arrest.

On June 22, 2016 at approximately 5:25PM Transit Police officers working in the Central District took a report from a female who informed the officers she was assaulted and had her Apple iPhone stolen from her while she was on the MBTA's Downtown Crossing Red Line platform. Subsequent to an investigation by Transit Police detectives, Bianca Telheiro, 20, of Boston was arrested on June 23, 2016 at Park Street Station for Larceny Over 250.00 and Assault. Telheiro was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Telheiro was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division.

Transit Police confirm fatality in Franklin.

The victim has been identified as Eric Parker, 27, of Sudbury. NO further updates.


On June 18, 2016 at approximately 4:20pm Transit Police officers assigned to the South district received a radio call to respond to Franklin for a person possibly struck by an MBTA train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Franklin Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, approximately 26 years of age, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an outbound train on the Forge Park line. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.

Plymouth man w.warrants draws attention to himself

Anthony Binsfield
On June 16, 2016 at approximately 7:15PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District were on patrol at the MBTA's Tufts Medical Center Station when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Anthony Binsfield,  32, of Plymouth. Binsfield was inhaling an unknown substance from a glass pipe. Officers approached Binsfield who proceeded to furnish the officers with misleading information relative to his identity. Officers eventually ascertained Binsfield's true name and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from: Dedham District Court for Larceny, Plymouth District Court for Larceny from a Building, Credit Card Larceny and Larceny Over 250.00 (3 counts). Binsfield was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

 During the booking process Binsfiled was found to be in possession of what the officers believed to be Heroin. Binsfield will be additional charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Person of Interest Assault to Murder.

The subject depicted within is wanted for questioning relative to an Armed Assault to Murder,  which occurred inside the MBTA South Station Commuter Rail lobby, on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at approximately 7:20 PM.

 

 

 The subject is described as follows;

 Black male, approximately 5’08” in height, 160 lbs., wearing a gray shirt with a white shirt underneath, black pants, black sneakers with red trim and carrying a black and red backpack

Medford man assault TPD Officer.

Xavier Galatis
On June 14, 2016 at approximately 2:20pm Transit Police officers assigned to the North District were on patrol at the MBTA's Harvard Station when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Xavier Galatis, 23, of Medford. Prior to the officers arrival Galatis had fare evaded and was confronted by an MBTA employee when he became violent and threatened the employee with death. Officers approached Galatis and were greeted by the same belligerent behavior and threats. Officers requested Galatis cease his tumultuous behavior and leave the station. Galatis refused and continued to shout threats at the officers and racial epithets at MBTA employees. Officers attempted to place Galatis into custody and he violently resisted striking the officer in the torso area. After a lengthy struggle Galatis was subdued and taken into custody. Galatis was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Galatis will be arraigned sometime today in Cambridge District Court Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

New Hampshire man draws attention to himself and ends up arrested.

On June 8, 2016 at approximately 1PM Transit Police officers patrolling the MBTA's Alewife station  observed a male, later identified as Jason Cheever, 39, of Goffstown, NH causing a disturbance near the Customer Service Booth. Shortly thereafter Cheever was again observed engaging in tumultuous behavior and arguing with another patron in the busway. Officers approached Cheever and subsequently discovered there was a warrant for Cheever's arrest issued by Roxbury District Court for Failure to Provide a DNA Sample. Cheever was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

The subjects are described as follows;
 
  • White female, approximately 25 years of age, brown hair, blue jeans, “Old Navy Boston” zip-up hoodie, white shirt and red backpack
  • White male, approximately 30 years of age, approximately 6’00” in height, white sneakers, faded blue jeans, white and grew hoodie, black backpack, blue “Red Sox” baseball hat, carrying a camera tripod
  • White male, approximately 28 years of age, approximately 5’08” in height, white sneakers, basketball style red shorts with a black stripe on the side, red tee shirt, blue “Boston” baseball hat, carrying black duffle bag and wearing a Velcro cast on right wrist

Wanted Lynn man arrested by TPD.

On June 6, 2016 at approximately 11:30AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District were on patrol at the MBTA's Quincy Center Station. While they were approached by a female who pointed out a male, later identified as Mark Melanson, 53, of Lynn whom she believed may have been following her. Officers approached Melanson to ascertain the situation and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Malden District Court for Larceny Over 250.00 & Larceny Under 250.00, Salem District Court for Shoplifting and Lynn District Court for Destruction of Property Over 250.00 and Failure to Provide DNA Sample.


Melanson was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

A 35-45 year old white male, approximately 6’00” in height, long dark hair in a pony tail, wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans, gray sneakers and carrying a black messenger bag
