On Saturday, April 23, 2016, at approximately 5:50 PM, the subject depicted within threatened the bus operator and broke a window on an MBTA bus at Quincy Center MBTA Station. 

 

The subject is described as follows;

  
 
A white male, approximately 30 years of age,  6’ in height, clean shaven, wearing a red, white and blue “Ford” baseball cap, a “Breaking Bad” graphic tank top, with red t-shirt underneath, black and green shorts, red sneakers with white laces. Tattooed right forearm and right calf.  The subject is believed to frequent the Quincy Center area.

Boston man identified, located & arrested in Lewdness investigation

On April 28, 2016 the Transit Police posted photographs of a person of interest relative to an Open & Gross Lewdness investigation. (see posting here). Subsequent to an investigation by Transit Police detectives, Keith Smith, 21, of Dorchester was placed into custody on 04/28/2016. It is expected Smith will be arraigned sometime today in Dorchester District Court.



During Smith's booking process it was discovered there were two warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Roxbury District Court for Trespassing and Dedham District Court B&E-Felony and Larceny Over 250.00

TPD confirms fatality in Medford. Trespasser struck

On April 28, 2016 at approximately 7PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Medford for a report of a person possibly struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. Multiple TPD units responded along with Medford Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, age unknown, while trespassing on the inbound track was struck by a Lowell Line MBTA commuter rail train in the vicinity of 662 Boston ave, Medford. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. Transit Police detectives along with representatives from the Middlesex County DA's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.

Boston man assault MBTA bus operator.

On April 24, 2016 at approximately 6:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to Warren and Moreland Street's Roxbury for a report of an MBTA bus operator who was assaulted. Upon arrival officers met with the bus operator as well as independent witnesses. Officers ascertained the following information: a male, later identified as Jorge Diaz-Vasquez, 44, of Boston boarded an MBTA bus but refused to pay his fare. The operator explained to Diaz-Vasquez he must pay his fare or exit the bus. Diaz-Vasquez stepped off the bus and spat upon the bus operator striking her and then fled the area.


Shortly thereafter Transit Police Officers while at Dudley MBTA station observed Diaz-Vasquez. As Officers approached Diaz-Vasquez he pushed a shopping carriage at the officers and fled. Officers gave chase and after a lengthy pursuit apprehended Diaz-Vasquez and placed him into custody for various assault charges. During the booking process Diaz-Vasquez provided a false name, officers subsequently discovered his true identity which revealed several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Charlestown District Court for violation of the Commonwealth's Drug Laws.

Point of Entry Policing nets 2 fare evasion violators with warrants

On April 14, 2016 at approximately 5PM Transit Police Officers assigned to the Central District were at the MBTA's Chinatown Station conducting Point of Entry Policing. While there they had their attention drawn to a female, later identified as Shannon Smith, 39, of Jamaica Plain. Smith entered through the fare gates without paying. Officers approached Smith and subsequently discovered there were active warrants for Smith's Arrest issued from Salem District for Shoplifting and Trespassing.


Shortly thereafter officers observed another male, later identified as Shaun Levesque, 34, assist other passengers enter into the paid area of the station without paying. Officers approached Levesque and subsequently discovered there were active warrants for his arrest issued from Lynn District Court for Larceny Over 250.00 and Trespassing. Both Levesque and Smith were transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

Lynn woman wanted for numerous felonies netted by TPD

On April 13, 2016 at approximately 9AM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Mass Ave station. While there they had their attention drawn to a female, later identified as Liann Duyon, 28, of Lynn. Duyon was smoking from a cigarette within several "NO SMOKING" signs posted in close proximity. Officers approached Duyon to educate her relative to the No Smoking Laws on MBTA property and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for her arrest issued from Lynn District Court for; Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Home Invasion and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Duyon was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

Level 2 Sex Offender arrested by TPD

On April 4, 2016 at approximately 5:20AM a female victim reported to the Transit Police she was followed, by an unknown male, into the MBTA Symphony Station and onto the inbound platform. Shortly thereafter the offending male unzipped his pants and committed a lewd act.


On April 11, 2016, based on a thorough investigation by Transit Police detectives did identify and arrest Mehmet Beyaztas, 27, of Boston for Open & Gross Lewdness as he was passing through the Arlington MBTA Subway station. Beyaztas, a Registered Level 2 Sex Offender was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Beyaztas will be arraigned sometime tomorrow in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division.

The Transit Police Department takes ALL reports of such incidents with the utmost seriousness and concern. We encourage anyone who witnesses or is victimized by such behavior to contact us.

Quincy man w/a warrant draws attention to himself.

On April 8, 2016 at approximately 5:45PM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Quincy Center Station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Michael Sargent, 37, of Quincy. Sargeant was smoking from a cigarette within feet of a conspicuously posted "NO SMOKING" sign. Officers approached and requested Sargenat's identification for citation purposes.  Sargent provided a false name and other identifiers in an attempt to mislead the officers. Subsequently officers discovered Sargent's true identity which revealed he was wanted by Plymouth District Court for Possession of a Class B Substance. Sargeant was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Prior to transport officers located a plastic baggie containing suspected Heroin in Sargent's possession.

Boston man wanted on Civil Rights Violations arrested by TPD


On April 5, 2016 at approximately 6:45pm Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Back Bay Station. Officers had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Michael Nalbantian, 29, of Boston. Nalbantian was loitering in the entrance to the station and appeared to be stuffing marijuana into a cigarette. Officers approached and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for Nalbantian's arrest issued out of Boston Municipal Court for: Wanton Destruction of Property, A&B to Intimidate w/Bodily Injury, Armed Robbery and two Counts of Civil Rights Violations. Nalbantian was placed into custody and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process officers located marijuana in Nalbantian's cigarette.

On Saturday, February 20, 2016, at approximately 3:00 PM, the subject depicted within picked up a lost wallet containing approximately $400, at JFK/UMass MBTA Station. The owner of the wallet returned moments later and the subject did not acknowledge him. 

 The subject is described as follows;
      White female with a light complexion, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, short blonde hair and glasses, wearing combat style boots, blue jeans, leather jacket, blue scarf, headphones and a light blue backpack

Boston man arrested for Open & Gross Conduct while on the MBTA

On March 27, 2016 at approximately 8:45PM the two female passengers while traveling on a Red Line train in the vicinity of Park Street Station noticed a male sitting directly across from them intentionally exposing his genitals. The offending male exited at Park Street Station and according to a witness may have attempted to "grope" another female as she ascended up the stairs.

On April 4, 2016 at approximately 4:45PM, after a thorough investigation by Transit Police Detectives, Robert McCarty, 40, of Boston was arrested at MBTA Harvard Sq., Station for two counts of Open & Gross Lewdness. McCarty was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process. McCarty was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division.

On March 29th, 2016 the TPD posted photographs of a person of interest relative (see posting here) to an Assault & Battery resulting in injuries. Subsequent to an investigation by Transit Police detectives and numerous tips that came in as a direct result of the above posting Scott Lockhart, 33, of West Bridgewater turned himself into Transit Police on today's date. Lockhart was taken into custody and arraigned in South Boston District Court for various Assault charges.
