Melrose man arrested at Malden Center Station

Daniel Steele
On February 27, 2016 at approximately 10:55pm Transit Police officers working in the North District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Malden Center Station for a report of a male refusing to exit an Orange Line train and causing damage within. Upon arrival officers were directed to the train car where they observed a male, later identified as Daniel Steele, 32 , of Melrose behaving erratically. Officers entered the train car and removed Steele. Once off the train witnesses informed the officers that moments earlier Steel had shattered the glass window to the MBTA inspector's booth with his fist and fully exposed his genitals to all within view.

Officers placed Steele into custody and transported him to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.  Steele was arraigned on Monday February 29, 2016 in Malden District Court for Malicious Destruction of Property Over 250.00 and Open & Gross Lewdness.
