On Sunday, August 2, 2015, at 9:16 AM, the subject depicted within took a passenger’s cell phone from her back pocket while she waited for a train on the Orange Line platform at Downtown Crossing Station. The victim pursued the subject as he fled through the Temple Street exit. 


The subject is described as follows;

Black male, tall, thin build, approximately 24 years of age, wearing a purple ball cap, black t-shirt, black cargo style shorts and purple and black sneakers

Rehoboth woman netted by Point of Entry Policing

On August 20, 2015 at approximately 6:30pm Transit Police officers were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Back Bay station. While there they observed a female, later identified as Ashley Desmarias, 28, of Rehoboth fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Desmarias for the purpose of issuing a citation. Officers subsequently discovered there was an outstanding warrant in existence for Desmarias arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court for Larceny Over 250.00. Desmarias was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

During the booking process Desmarias was found to be in possession of over 2,700 dollars worth of stolen merchandise from a local department store. Desmarias was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over 250.00. Desmarias was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on 08/21/2015.

Ashland man netted by Point of Entry Policing.

On August 17, 2015 at approximately 10pm Transit Police officers working in Area 4 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Ruggles station in Roxbury. While there they observed a male, later identified as Christopher Burrows, 23, of Ashland smoking from a cigarette in an area with conspicuously posted "NO SMOKING" signs. Officers approached Burrows and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court for Trespassing and False Name at Booking and East Brookfield District Court for Larceny Over 250.00 and Receiving Stolen Property. Burrows was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Burrows was also issued a citation for smoking.

Transit Police disrupt Larceny in progress.

On August 16, 2015 at approximately 2:20pm a Transit Police officer working in Area 2 was on patrol at the Alewife MBTA station. While there his attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Bruce Perez, 28, of Somerville. Perez appeared as if he was scanning various bicycles secured to the bike racked. Perez stopped at a particular bicycle, removed a set of bolt cutters from his backpack and attempted to cut the lock off of the bicycle he had an interest in. The officer disrupted Perez and prevented him from stealing the bicycle. Perez was placed into custody for Attempted Larceny of a Bicycle and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

During the booking process Perez was found to be in possession of a second set of bolt cutters. Additionally, it was discovered there were several warrants in existence for Perez' arrest issued from Somerville District Court for; Assault & Battery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, 2 counts of Larceny and 2 counts of Destruction of Property over 250.00.

Confirmed fatality Mansfield.

On August 13, 2015 at approximately 11am Transit Police officers working in Area 3 received a radio call to respond to Mansfield for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Several Transit Police units responded as well as Mansfield Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male, trespassing on Track 2, was struck by an eastbound Amtrak train in the vicinity of Norfolk Street. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained. Transit Police detectives and representatives of Bristol County District Attorney's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances leading to the incident.  Foul play is NOT suspected.

On Sunday, August 9, 2015, at 10:45 PM, the subjects depicted within took an iPhone 6, Plus, from a passenger on the Braintree platform of the JFK U/Mass MBTA Station. During the theft the female victim fell from the waiting bench to the floor of the platform.

The subject wearing the white and red shirt also took an MBTA employee's cell phone that fell from his pocket as he attempted to detain the subject wearing the grey hooded sweatshirt.

Quincy man wanted for Kidnapping nabbed by Transit Police.

On August 5, 2015 at approximately 2PM Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Quincy Center station. While there they observed a male, later identified as Paul Weaver, 48, of Quincy smoking from a cigarette directly next to a "NO SMOKING" sign. Officers approached Weaver to educate him regarding the prohibition of smoking on MBTA property and subsequently discovered Weaver was wanted out of  Norfolk Superior Court for Kidnapping and West Roxbury District Court for Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

Weaver was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
