Waltham duo arrested by TPD at Alewife station.

On July 27, 2015 at approximately 9pm Transit Police officers were on patrol at the MBTA's Alewife station. While there they observed a male and female, later identified Michael Maillet, 26, and Brittany Omeara, 26, both of Waltham. Maillet and Omeara were observed loitering in the "Pick up Drop off" area for over an hour and appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. Officers approached the duo and subsequently discovered Maillet had a warrant for his arrest issued from Salem District Court for Shoplifting. As the officers were placing Maillet into custody Omeara began to verbally berate the officers yelling profanities and creating a disturbance. Officers requested several times for Omeara to cease her behavior and ordered her to vacate the station. Omeara responded by yelling racial epithets at the officers as she proceeded to Cambridge Parkway blocking traffic and continuing to shout racial insults. Omeara was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Omeara will be arrainged sometime today in Cambridge District Court for Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct.  Maillet was also arrested by virtue of the warrant and transported to TPD HQ as well.

Train fatality investigation, Brockton.

Death Investigation
On July 25, 2015 at approximately 2pm Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call to respond to Brockton Commuter rail station for a report of a pedestrian possibly struck by a MBTA Commuter Rail train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Brockton Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male was struck by a Middleborough Line train on track 2 as he was crossing over towards the platform area. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

The train, a test train, was not carrying passengers and no other injuries were reported. Transit Police detectives along with representatives of the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.

On Thursday, July 23, 2015, at approximately 10:15 AM,  a larceny by scheme occurred at JFK/UMass Station in the lower busway. This was the second of two offenses occurring on consecutive days.  The female subject depicted within participated in the scheme and was in the company of two young children and one teenaged female.

Wilmington man side swipes TPD cruiser.

George Mann
On July 23, 2015 at approximately 7:15pm a Transit Police officer in a marked TPD cruiser was parked on West Broadway Street, South Boston just outside the MBTA Broadway station when his vehicle was side swiped by Ford pick up truck. The operator of the Ford truck, later identified as George Mann, 55, of Wilmington continued traveling on West Broadway Street. The officer activated his emergency lights and siren and caught up to Mann initiating a stop of Mann's vehicle at the corner of A Street and West Broadway. Subsequent to speaking with Mann it was discovered Mann was not duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts. Additionally the officer believed, based on his observations, Mann was under the influence of intoxicating liquors.

Mann was placed into custody for O.U.I.Liquor, Leaving the Scene with Property Damage and Operating without a License. Mann was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Mann will be arraigned sometime today in South Boston District Court.

Boston man arrested for several warrants at MBTA Andrew Sq.

On July 21, 2015 at approximately 10:25am Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. station. While there they observed a male, later identified as Anthony Hertzler, 29, of Boston smoking what the officers believed to be "K2". Officers approached Hertzler and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Framingham District Court for Assault & Battery 2 counts, Disorderly Conduct, Intimidation of a Witness and Attempt to Commit a Crime. Hertzler was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

Watertown man arrested for Indecent Assault & Battery

On July 20, 2015 at approximately 5PM a Transit Police officer was on patrol at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. station when they were approached by a female patron who relayed the following; while traveling on a Route 10 MBTA bus between Boston Medical Center and Andrew Sq. the female was Indecently Assaulted by a male. The female victim pointed out a male, later identified as Manuel Esquivel, 65, of Watertown as the offending male. Esquivel had just exited the bus and was walking in the direction of the Red Line entrance. The officer approached Esquivel and placed him into custody. Esquivel was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Esquivel will be arraigned sometime today in South Boston District Court for Indecent Assault & Battery.

On July 17, 2015 we posted images of a male individual relative to an Assault and Robbery upon an elderly person (see posting here). A short while ago Cordaryll Monroe, 23, of Dorchester turned himself at Transit Police HQ. It is expected Monroe will be arraigned sometime Monday (07/20/15) in Dorchester District Court for Unarmed Robbery and Assault & Battery on an Elderly Person.

Boston man arrested for Indecent Assault & Battery.

On July 10, 2015 at approximately 6:45am a female victim was indecently assaulted by an unknown male as she traveled on a Green Line train in the vicinity of Brookline Village. After the assault the male exited at Newton Centre. On July 15, 2015 at approximately 6:30am the victim observed the same offending male standing on the outbound platform at Brookline Village. The victim immediately notified Transit Police, TPD officers responded and located the offending male, later identified as Ismael Rodriguez, 49, of Boston. Rodriguez was placed into custody and
transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Rodriguez will face Indecent Assault & Battery charge in Brookline District Court.

Watertown man arrested after boarding MBTA bus with fake bullets.

On July 10, 2015 at approximately 4PM Transit Police officers working in Area 4 received a radio call to respond to the vicinity of Cambridge and Harvard Street's for a man who boarded an MBTA bus armed with what appeared to be live rounds of ammunition. Several Transit and Boston Police officers responded and subsequently Boston Police Officers located the male, later identified as Kevin Young, 26, of Watertown walking on Penniman Road. The ammunition turned out to be replica bullets. Young was placed into custody by Boston Police for Disorderly Conduct (further details here)

Roxbury woman with several warrants arrested by TPD: Ruggles Station

On July 12, 2015 at approximately 3:15pm Transit Police officers on patrol at the MBTA's Ruggles station observed a female, later identified as Jacqueline Abate, 32, of Roxbury. Abate was located in the lower busway smoking a cigarette in close proximity to conspicuously posted "NO SMOKING" signs. Officers approached Abate to educate her relative to the no smoking laws on MBTA property. Subsequently officers discovered Abate had several warrants in existence for her arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court-Central Division for Shoplifting and Quincy District Court for; Check Forgery 4 counts, Attempt to Commit a Crime 3 counts, Uttering a False Check 4 counts  and Larceny by Check 3 counts. (15
total charges). Abate was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

Marblehead woman draws attention to herself: arrested.

On July 9, 2015 at approximately 4pm Transit Police officers while on patrol at the MBTA's Park Street station observed a female, later identified as Julie Hamburg, 39 of Marblehead. Hamburg was smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette while standing in the entrance to the station. Officers approached Hamburg and confirmed their suspicions. Hamburg quickly discarded the marijuana and attempted to vacate the area. Officers subsequently discovered there was a warrant in existence for Hamburg's arrest issued out of Lynn District Court for Larceny. Hamburg was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

South Boston man arrested: Andrew Sq. MBTA

On July 7, 2015 at approximately 10:40am Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq., station when they observed a male, later identified as Matthew Earner, 28, of South Boston. Earner was smoking a cigarette under conspicuously posted "NO SMOKING" signs. Officers approached Earner and issued him a citation. Earner became irate and was shouting profanities at the officers. Earner proceeded to the sidewalk, pulled his pants down, slightly bent forward and displayed his buttocks while shouting vulgarities. At this time there were several citizens in proximity to Earner to include pedestrians as well as vehicular.

Officers approached Earner and placed him into custody for Open & Gross Conduct and transported him to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

Boston man wanted for Assault & Battery on Correctional Official nabbed by TPD

On July 2, 2015 at approximately 4:30pm several Transit Police officers were on high visibility patrol at the MBTA's Chinatown station. While there they observed a male, later identified as Tevin Fortier, 19, of Boston fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Fortier who immediately became verbally combative and furnished several false names. Officers were able to ascertain Fortier's true identity which revealed he was wanted by Lowell District Court for Assault & Battery with Bodily Substance on a Correctional Official. Fortier was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

South Boston woman arrested on warrants at Andrew Sq.

Danielle Sproul
On July 2, 2015 at approximately 2:30pm Transit Police officers were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Andrew Sq. station. While there they observed a female, later identified as Danielle Sproul, 36, of South Boston smoking a cigarette in close proximity to conspicuously posted "NO SMOKING" signs. Officers approached Sproul for the purpose of issuing a citation, Sproul furnished a false name and other personal identifiers in an attempt to conceal her true identity. Ultimately officers discovered her true name which revealed warrants in existence for her arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court for Larceny and Trespassing.

Sproul was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
