Fatality in Ashland; Trespasser struck

On December 14, 2015 at approximately 5:30pm Transit Police officers received a radio call to respond to Ashland for a report of a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Ashland Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: in the vicinity of Cherry Street and Tilton Avenue in Ashland a female, approx. age 30's, while trespassing on the right of way was struck by an inbound MBTA Commuter Rail train. The female was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives along with representatives of the Middlesex District Attorney's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
