Register your Bike with REJJEE

Transit Police partners with Rejjee in effort to reduce bike thefts.

Transit along with Boston Police, Massachusetts State Police, Arlington Police, Somerville Police, Northeastern University Police, Boston University Police and Lesley University Campus Safety formed a collaborative partnership with the start up "Rejjee" to reduce bicycle thefts on the MBTA/in and around Boston and to assist owners in locating their stolen bicycle.

What is Rejjee (further details here):

Rejjee your Ride is a free national bike registry that lets riders use their mobile phone to register their bikes (and an unlimited number of valuables) for free, complete with images serial number, and other defining information.  If any item is ever lost or stolen users can post a report on their phone and each report is immediately listed on the Rejjee crowd-sourced lost & found so friends, neighbors, and local police can view and respond in real-time.  To help reduce the$40-Billion online re-sale of stolen goods, the Rejjee platform also enables users to search by product category and serial number to verify an item prior to completing a sale on eBay or Craigslist.  “The implications for on-line re-sellers who do not verify with the Rejjee information can be a felony offense” - according to Rejjee President Gary O’Neil

Early success: within days of launching the campaign "Michael" whose bike was stolen was recovered by Transit Police officers on the MBTA was reunited with his bicycle after locating it on Rejjee.
