Boston man arrested for bicycle thefts.

On September 15, 2015 we posted images of an individual of interest relative to the theft of bicycles at the MBTA's Alewife station. (see posting here). On September 16, 2015 at approximately 2pm Transit Police officers on patrol at Alewife station observed a male, later identified as Mark Choplin, 35, of Boston acting in a suspicious manner by the bicycle cages. Officers noted Choplin closely resembled the male depicted in the images wanted for bicycle larceny.

Officers approached Choplin and positively identified him as the male depicted. Choplin also identified himself in the photo and subsequently admitted to stealing the bicycles from Alewife station. Choplin was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. Choplin was arraigned in Cambridge District Court.
