Rehoboth woman netted by Point of Entry Policing

On August 20, 2015 at approximately 6:30pm Transit Police officers were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Back Bay station. While there they observed a female, later identified as Ashley Desmarias, 28, of Rehoboth fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Desmarias for the purpose of issuing a citation. Officers subsequently discovered there was an outstanding warrant in existence for Desmarias arrest issued from Boston Municipal Court for Larceny Over 250.00. Desmarias was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

During the booking process Desmarias was found to be in possession of over 2,700 dollars worth of stolen merchandise from a local department store. Desmarias was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over 250.00. Desmarias was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on 08/21/2015.
