Wilmington man side swipes TPD cruiser.

George Mann
On July 23, 2015 at approximately 7:15pm a Transit Police officer in a marked TPD cruiser was parked on West Broadway Street, South Boston just outside the MBTA Broadway station when his vehicle was side swiped by Ford pick up truck. The operator of the Ford truck, later identified as George Mann, 55, of Wilmington continued traveling on West Broadway Street. The officer activated his emergency lights and siren and caught up to Mann initiating a stop of Mann's vehicle at the corner of A Street and West Broadway. Subsequent to speaking with Mann it was discovered Mann was not duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts. Additionally the officer believed, based on his observations, Mann was under the influence of intoxicating liquors.

Mann was placed into custody for O.U.I.Liquor, Leaving the Scene with Property Damage and Operating without a License. Mann was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. It is expected Mann will be arraigned sometime today in South Boston District Court.
