Trespasser struck-Fatality confirmed -Fitchburg

Death Investigation
On April 18, 2015 at approximately 9:50pm Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call to respond to the Fitchburg Commuter Rail station for a person possibly struck by a train. Multiple TPD units responded along with Fitchburg Fire and EMS. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A 57 year old male, while trespassing on track 2- Main freight line, was struck by a westbound Pan Am Railways train just west of the station. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives and representatives of the Worcester County District Attorney's Office are investigating the facts and circumstances leading to the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.
