Trespasser struck: Gloucester

Investigation

On December 10, 2014 at approximately 6:35pm Transit Police officers working in Area 2 received a radio call for a person possibly struck by a commuter rail train in Gloucester. Several Transit Police units along with Gloucester Police & Fire responded. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information ; a white male, believed to have been in his 40"s, while trespassing on track 2 (inbound side) was struck by a Newburyport/Rockport line commuter rail train in the vacinity of West Gloucester station. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives along with representatives of the Essex County District Attorney's Office are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
