On October 17, 2014 at approximately 5:30pm Transit Police officers working in Area 1 received a radio call to respond to the MBTA's Back Bay station for a report of a male committing a sex act in the men's restroom. Upon arrival officers entered the restroom and noticed the door to the handicap stall was opened. As the officers proceeded in that direction, they observed a male, later identified as
Steven Flynn, 49, of Jamaica Plain sitting on the toilet, without pants on and engaged in a sex act. Apparently surprised by the officers presence, Flynn claimed to be only using the bathroom When fully clothed and outside the stall Flynn furnished a false name and date of birth to the officers. Unfortunately for Flynn, the name he provided belonged to another person who just happened to have 4 warrants outstanding for their arrest. (we know, it's hard to believe).
Flynn was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. During this process officers uncovered Flynn's true identity, they also discovered Flynn is a Level 2 Sex Offender. It is expected Flynn will be arraigned sometime Monday (10/20/2014) in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division for Open & Gross Lewdness.
