On August 12, 2014 at approximately 10:40 AM a Route 240 MBTA bus was travelling northbound in the vicinity of 1177 North Main Street (RT.28) in Randolph. Simultaneously at this time a vehicle, being operated by a
Stephen Griswold, 30, of Franklin was travelling in the southbound lane on North Main Street. Griswold's vehicle, a 2006 Ford 500, crossed the double yellow line and entered into the northbound lane colliding head on into the MBTA bus. At the time of the incident there were approximately 34 passengers on board of which 13 were transported to local area hospitals for NON life threatening injuries.(neck and back discomfort)
Subsequent to an investigation by Transit Police detectives Griswold was taken into custody for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs and transported to Transit Police HQ. Griswold is expected to be arraigned sometime tomorrow at Quincy District Court.
