On June 13, 2014 at approximately 5pm Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's JKF/UMass station. While there they observed a male, later identified as
Ahmad Braitwaite 43 of Boston, fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached Braitwaite for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there was a warrant in existence for Braitwaite's arrest issued from Quincy District Court for Shoplifting. Braitwaite was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

On June 13, 2014 at approximately 6:30pm Transit Police officers working in Area 3 were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's Braintree station. While there they observed a male, later identified as
Ryan Mortimer 31 of South Boston, smoking from a cigarette on the stairs which lead to the platform. Officers approached Mortimer for the purpose of advising him relative to the Commonwealth's Smoking Laws on MBTA property. Subsequently officers discovered there was a warrant in existence for Mortimer's arrest issued from South Boston District Court for 2 counts of Assault & Battery and 1 count of Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Mortimer was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
