Point of Entry Policing-JFK/UMass station

On April 6, 2014 at approximately 7:45 am a Transit Police officer working in Area 3 was conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTA's JFK/UMass station. While there they observed a male, later idnetified as Sean Bennett, 21 of Boston, fare evade by entering through the Emergency gate (exit only). The officer approached Bennett for the purpose of issuing a citation, Bennett furnished a false name and then fled out of the station. Another Transit Police officer, who was in the area, was able to apprehend Bennet a short distance away. Upon learning Bennett's true identity officers discovered there was a warrant in existence for his arrest issued out of Lynn District Court for Kidnapping, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Attempt to Commit a Crime.  Bennet was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process. He was also issued a citation for fare evasion.
